A Short Introduction to the CosmoParenting Podcast Resource

What is CosmoParenting?

...

"What does it mean to parent? Given the complexity of raising, supporting, and mentoring children in an ever-changing world, answering this question isn’t easy. But, to make it just a little easier, we invite you to join our exploration of parenting through the CosmoParenting Podcast.

CosmoParenting is a year-long podcast series featuring stories from people who are parenting, conversations with family communication scholars and family therapists, and strategies from a gifted educator. CosmoParenting is designed to support you in this journey of figuring out for yourself what it means to parent by enriching your parenting toolbox, offering one short episode each week that provides opportunities to reflect, listen, connect, practice, and engage.

In this space, we invite you to see yourself as someone who is curious about and actively participating in creating your own meaning around parenting. And CosmoParenting is for all who “parent,” be that biological and adopted parents, foster parents, bonus and stepparents, grandparents, caregivers of any kind- whatever your parenting may look like- this space is inclusive to you.

Over the course of 52 episodes, we will explore 12 universal themes- Stories, Patterns, Adaptation, Relationships, Moral Forces, Conflict, Power, Structures, Communities, Order and Chaos, Perspectives, and Change. We will explore one theme per month, with each month consisting of 4 bite-sized episodes.

Central to CosmoParenting is our belief that parenting is like improvisation- you don’t always know what will happen next, but with the right tools, practices, and language you can feel prepared and confident in meeting unexpected moments, trusting yourself to act in alignment with your hopes for yourself and your family.

CosmoParenting is part of CosmoActivities- a series of free social emotional resources- including CosmoKidz, CosmoTweenz, and CosmoTeenz. Check out all our CosmoActivities for free at www.cosmoactivities.com and subscribe to CosmoParenting at www.cosmoparenting.substack.com.”
